CPU負荷は軽くサウンドはヘビーなHive 2では、スマートで洗練されたインターフェイスでパワフルなサウンド機能を提供してくれます。2つのオシレーターと調整可能なサブオシレーターを搭載し、複雑なサウンドデザインも簡単に行うことができます。各キャラクターを生み出すNormal、Dirty、Cleanの3つのシンセエンジンと、ドラッグ&ドロップでモジュレーションの割り当てを行なったり、様々なエフェクトにより素早く実践的な結果を出すことができます。
