About Mastercard SecureCode

Mastercard SecureCode is a service from Mastercard and your card issuer that provides added protection when shopping online. There is no need to obtain a new Mastercard or Maestro card. You choose your own personal SecureCode, which is never shared with any merchant. This private code helps protect against unauthorized use of your credit or debit card when making online purchases.

Every time you pay online with your Mastercard or Maestro card, a verification window from your card issuer appears and asks for your personal SecureCode, similar to entering a PIN at an ATM. Within seconds, your card issuer confirms your identity and allows the purchase to be completed.
