Connecting the Kontrol S-series Mk3 Keyboard to a Computer
Connect your keyboard’s USB-C Host connector to a USB-C port on your computer and turn it on using the button on the rear panel. This should normally provide both the data and power connection to the keyboard.
If you do not have a USB-C socket available on your computer, you can use a USB-C to USB-A cable to provide a data connection, but your keyboard will not take power from the computer. In this case you will need to connect the USB-C power connection on the rear of the keyboard to a 5V USB-C power supply (please be aware that using a USB-C to USB-A cable to a USB-A power supply will not provide enough power).
If you want to use your keyboard as a stand-alone controller, with no computer connection, you will need to power the keyboard as described above.
