Connecting the Kontrol S-series Mk3 Keyboard to a Computer

  • Connect your keyboard’s USB-C Host connector to a USB-C port on your computer and turn it on using the button on the rear panel. This should normally provide both the data and power connection to the keyboard.

  • If you do not have a USB-C socket available on your computer, you can use a USB-C to USB-A cable to provide a data connection, but your keyboard will not take power from the computer. In this case you will need to connect the USB-C power connection on the rear of the keyboard to a 5V USB-C power supply (please be aware that using a USB-C to USB-A cable to a USB-A power supply will not provide enough power).

  • If you want to use your keyboard as a stand-alone controller, with no computer connection, you will need to power the keyboard as described above.
