Using Other (Non-NKS) Plug-Ins
The preset browsing features that have been described for Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt are not available for non-NKS plugins, but the Kontrol S-series Mk3 keyboards now support parameter editing for non-NKS plug-ins.
Plug-In Parameter Editing in Performance or Classic View
If your currently-selected track within your DAW contains an instance of Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt, or any other plug-in that exposes its parameters, you can adjust the parameters of that plug-in by performing the following steps:
Within your DAW, select the track containing the plug-in that you want to edit.
Press the Plug-In button on your Kontrol keyboard to enter Plug-In mode. If you are adjusting a legacy NKS plug-in, you will be placed in Classic View, but if you are adjusting a plug-in that supports the new next-generation NKS standard, you will be taken to Performance View. These views will allow you to adjust the most commonly-used parameters of any NKS plug-in, but Performance View offers more control styles.
The buttons above the display allow you to select the plug-in that you want to work with, assuming that you have eight or less plug-ins in your chain. If you have more than eight plug-ins, Buttons 1 and 2 allow you to move to the previous and next pages of plug-ins and the remaining six buttons allow you to select a plug-in to work with.
Tap the Knobs to hear what parameters they control and their current values, or inspect the Knobs Zone of the Accessibility Helper window, to discover what the Knobs are controlling within your selected plug-in. A plug-in may have more than one page of parameters, so try pressing the Left and Right Arrow buttons within the Navigation Zone to discover additional pages of parameters.
Turn the Knobs to adjust the parameters of your selected plug-in. You can hear the results of your changes by playing the keyboard.
Use Buttons 1 and 2 to move to any other plug-in slots that contain a plug-in and make adjustments to its parameters.
Press the DAW button on your Kontrol keyboard to return to DAW mode.
Parameter Adjustments in Edit View for Next-Generation NKS Plug-Ins
Your NKS plug-in may allow you to edit more parameters than those that are exposed in Performance/Classic View. To interact with these extra parameters, do the following:
Close Classic View by holding down the Shift button on the Kontrol keyboard and pressing Button 5.
Open the Edit View by pressing Button 8 in stand-alone mode, or reselect the plug-in by pressing its associated button in DAW mode.
The Buttons will now change to allow you to choose different groups of parameters for you to edit, so use Training Mode or the Buttons Zone within the Accessibility Helper window to discover what groups are available to you within your plug-in.
Press the Button to select the group that you want to work with, or press Button 1 or 2 to show more groups, if they are available.
Once you have chosen a group of parameters, you can:
Tap any Knob to discover what parameter it controls.
Turn any Knob to adjust the value of the parameter.
Page through the available parameters in that group using the Left and Right Arrow buttons. within the Navigation Zone
You can exit Edit View at any time by pressing Button 8.
You can toggle between Edit and Classic View by holding down the Shift button on the Kontrol keyboard and pressing Button 5.
