Mixing

Once you have all of your tracks populated with plug-ins and you have recorded some parts, it is time to do a little production using your Kontrol keyboard. The Kontrol keyboards provide a consistent mixing approach via the DAW integration feature. Here is how it works:

  • Hold down the Kontrol keyboard’s Shift button and press the 4-D encoder up/down to switch the action of the Knobs between Volume and Pan control.

  • Turn the 4-D encoder to adjust the selected track’s volume/pan.

  • Press the Left or Right Arrow buttons in the Navigation Zone to move to the previous or next bank of eight tracks.

  • Press Button 1-8 to mute its associated track.

  • Hold down the Shift button then press Button 1-8 to solo its associated track.

  • Knobs 1-8 adjust the volume or panning for their associated tracks.

  • Hold down the Shift button while turning Knob 1-8 to make fine adjustments to the associated track’s volume or panning.
