Macros

Abstract

The Macros are designed for quick and easy access. Macros can be used as a master control for multiple parameter, or as a tailored performance tool.

The Macros are designed to give easy access to settings that are important in production, for example an lowpass filter, or controls that may require quick accessibility, like a Send FX. Macros can be used as a master control for multiple parameters at once, or can be tailored for use as a performance tool.

Macros Pane Overview

The Macros pane contains the following controls:

  1. Macros: Provides level control for Macros A, B, C, and D respectively. Each of top-level parameter can be assigned to multiple modulation targets at once.

  2. XY Pad: Controls the sound of the snapshot according to the modulation assignments for the X and Y parameters. MIDI controllers for the XY pad can be assigned on the Master page. For more information, refer to XY Pad.

Assigning Macros

The Macros should be assigned to parameters that give quick access to important production settings, but do not necessarily require real-time control.

To assign parameters to a Macro control:

  1. Click on the Modulation Connector of the parameter you wish to assign.

  2. From the drop-down menu, select the Macro control that you want the parameter to be assigned to.

The assigned parameter/s will display an A, B, C, or D, indicating the Macro they are assigned to. If you want to assign multiple parameters to the same Macro control, repeat this process.

Assigning labels to the Macros can help quickly determine each Macro's primary function. This is particularly useful if you are assigning multiple parameters to create a specific control.

To assign a label to a Macro control:

  1. In the Macros pane or the Perform page, click on the Macro control (A, B, C, or D) that you want to label.

  2. From the drop-down menu, select the label you want to assign to the Macro.

The label is now assigned to the Macro control.

Macros Setup

Below is a suggested setup for the Macro controls:

Macro A

Filter / Bass Control

  • Filter or EQ to quickly control the frequency range (bass).

  • Other parameters assigned in the XY section can go here when no bass control is required.

Macro B

Filter / Treble Control

  • Filter or EQ to quickly control the frequency range (treble).

  • Other parameters assigned in the XY section can go here when no treble control is required.

Macro C

Motion

  • Anything that creates motion in addition to the XY pad. This could include filter modulation, Scan and Jitter, and controls in the Modulation Pane.

Macro D

FX Amount (Reverb, Delay)

  • FX level control, enabling you to quickly turn down effects levels.
